A Jungle Adventure! Sumatran Orangutans and Elephants, River Rafting, and Jungle Trekking in Indonesia.
Wanderlust Duo embarks on a life-changing adventure through the jungles of Gunung Leseur National Park. The game-plan: A five-day tour of North Sumatra, Indonesia, including a two-day hike through the jungles to find wild Sumatran orangutans, then river rafting back to Bukit Lawang, before heading to Tangkahan to hang out with elephants at a sanctuary for the critically endangered species. What an amazing journey, and you can see the entire trip right here..

Wow, I booked this trip last September for this July. I researched this trip for months before hand and decided on this one based on amazing tripadvisor reviews. I just watched this video and am so happy that this will be me in 4 months. Photos are one this but seeing this on film makes me tingly all over. Thank you for posting this amazing video
Hello, Catherine! We’re so glad you enjoyed our video, we had a lot of fun filming it too! We really can’t say enough great things about the tour or EcoTravel… You’re gonna have a blast! 🙂
Honestly, we didn’t ask, but that’s a great question. It seemed like they used lots of positive re-enforcement and treats, like bananas and sugarcane. It looked as though each elephant had an individual trainer, and they responded by name, vocal commands, and hand signals..

Hi Krissy and Josh
Your trip looks truly amazing!
When you met the elephants, did the trainers explain anything about how they trained the elephants to obey commands?
Many thanks!
Sam
