This amazingly beautiful place in Guatemala has (as of yet) survived the onslaught of mass tourism, perhaps because of it’s remote location, nearly four hours from the nearest major airport. For us, the lack of major hotels, the thriving indigenous traditions, and the imparted sense of adventure, makes Lake Atitlan a “must” if considering Central American travel.
